TECHNOLOGY
The technological policy of the plant is based on the principle of constant technological development and mastering of new products manufacturing. We believe that advanced technology is the key to the future success of our facilities. Our expansion and modernization plans are based on this premise.

1. Pipe Rolling Shop
"Azerboru" OJSC plans to enhance its rolling mill capacity, and as such will prepare the technical concept of upgrading the existing mills. The projected capacity should be 250,000 Mt per annum.
We have finished reconstruction of Pipe Rolling Mill PRM – 250, which allowed us to start on commercial production of seamless pipes from 140 up to 219 mm. At the present time, reconstruction and modernization of Pipe Rolling Mill PRM – 140 is almost complete. Starting of PRA– 140 will enlarge the variety of pipe production from 60 up to 140 mm.
2. Finishing Shop
The finishing shop can process the following types of pipes:
- Casing;
- Tubing;
- Drilling;
- Line.
"Azerboru" OJSC can produce up to 3500-4000 tons of casing and tubing pipes, and also 8000 tons of line pipes per month under GOST standards at the moment.
Recently, the "Azerboru" OJSC Laboratory successfully passed accreditation in accordance with the National Systems of Certification (AZS). The certificate of conformity for casing, tubing and line pipes was received afterwards (which corresponds to GOST standard).
Control panels of pipe end and coupling threading machine “EMAG” (Germany) for casing pipes and also control system of pipe hydrostatic testing “ YAMASUI” ( Japan) were changed to last generation of SIEMENS (Germany) .
The modernization of Heat Treatment Line for the production of high steel grade Casing Pipes has been finished successfully. After testing of the Line, commercial exploitation is planned in June, 2007.
The modernization of Drilling Pipe Line of Company DEMAG ( Germany ) is planned to be completed by 2008.
3. API Certification
In order to bring the plant's capabilities up to API standards, “ DET-Al Metal DMCC” and OJSC “Azerboru” are undertaking the following actions:
- Taking steps to assure involvement of highly qualified personnel to establish a state-of-the-art QA system
- Equipping the plant with up-to-date machinery
- Refurbishing and renovating its Soviet-era machinery with the help of local and international turnkey contractors
